Turn that ‘bad attitude’ around

I like a quote I read recently from well-known motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar: “A bad attitude is like a flat tire; you can’t go anywhere until you change it.”

Unfortunately, many people would prefer to find others who will commiserate with them and thus continue to breathe life into the bad attitude.

Misery loves company, so the saying goes, but the result is still the same.

Until you change your attitude, everything runs through its soiled filter and taints everyone who’s subject to its influence.

I once counselled a man who ardently followed a particular baseball team, one which rarely won.

His wife testified that he was a miserable sourpuss every single time they lost, and the result was usually a ruined evening in their home.

He even admitted to breaking lamps and having temper tantrums.

Folks, we need to get a grip on this problem before it gets a grip on us.

Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”

So, practice thinking positively, with a thankful heart instead of a critical one.

You can certainly go places with an attitude like that!
