Mischief and uttering threats charges laid in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Oct. 25, 2024, at 6:26 p.m., police were contacted regarding a disturbance at a residence on Sheldon Ave, Chatham.

A 22-year-old Chatham man was reportedly damaging property with a baseball bat and threatening others at the residence.

When officers arrived, the disturbance had ended, and the man had left the residence.

A search of the area located him on St. Clair Ave, Chatham, where he was placed under arrest.

The man was charged with uttering threats to cause death and mischief under $5,000.

He was released with conditions regarding the victims and property, and a future court date of Nov. 25, 2024.
