Entegrus customers powered down once again on Saturday night during Earth Hour, showcasing their commitment to fight climate change.

Entegrus’ System Control Centre reported a service territory-wide 3.2 percent energy reduction of electricity between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday – the equivalent of taking approximately 150 residential homes off the electrical grid for 24-hours.

This was a slight increase from the 3 percent reduction achieved in 2014.

“This was the World Wildlife Fund’s 9th annual Earth Hour, we’re happy to see that our customers continue to participate,” stated Margaret Rodd, Director of Conservation & Communications atEntegrus. “Earth Hour has successfully raised awareness of climate change throughout the world, making it a mainstream conversation. Conservation is a topic that is now being considered in our everyday lives, we’ve come a long way since the inaugural Earth Hour.”

Entegrus supported Earth Hour by powering down non-essential lights at their facilities. Additionally, Entegrus encourages its customers to visit www.entegrus.com/conservation to view current saveONenergy programs available, and conservation tips to reduce their energy use year round.
