The depending champion Wallaceburg Tartans junior boys football team got off to a great start on Friday afternoon.
Wallaceburg walked into Chatham to face the C-K Golden Hawks, and came away with a 26-13 victory.
UCC beat McGregor 58-0 in the other game in the league.
The Tartans will have their home opener on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
