Poll: Should Wallaceburg’s fringe boundaries be adjusted?

Although council opted not to have a consultant analyse Chatham-Kent’s governance structure, some councillors agreed some of the ward boundaries need to change – specifically in Wallaceburg.

Coun. Carmen McGregor said Coun. Jeff Wesley and herself heard from a great number of people that lived “just on the outskirts of Wallaceburg” that went to the polls thinking they were voting for them.

“There kids go to ours schools, they work in our communities,” McGregor said. “They’re very active, their kids are using our arena, our pools, our community, our library. I think the wards need to be looked at a little better than what they have.”

What do you think?

  1. Sorry Carmen, I disagree. If you live in town you vote on town issues. If you live in the country you vote on country issues. If you are concerned about Wallaceburg, buy property in Wallaceburg and vote there.
