Are you a part of a service club or team that is looking to do some fundraising in Wallaceburg?

Well, look no further than the Wallaceburg Hometown Bingo.

“We are in need of clubs,” said Sandra Johnston, secretary/treasurer for the Wallaceburg Hometown Bingo Association. “If there is a club that is looking for a home to raise funds they can contact Eric Johnston or myself at 519-627-1146 or email us at ericj@kent.net.”

Sandra said the clubs do need to meet certain criteria.

“They have to be incorporated and must have been a club for more than one year,” she said. “They have to be approved by Chatham-Kent, they have application forms but we will get them in touch with the Municipality.”

When groups come to work a bingo, they should bring 6-8 people, Sandra said.

“Most come in with six people and they show up at 5 p.m. When they arrive they count the paper and money and get everything set up. They do the whole aspect of the Bingo. They sell all the books, they sell the loose paper, they work the floor. We will train them.”

A number of groups already work Bingo’s in the hall.

“Eric and I have belonged to the Optimist Club since 1968 and as a child I was part of the Optimist, my parents were part of the Optimists. The Optimist Club has been going since 1947 and they have always had a Bingo. They are still here so that proves there is money. Not the money there use to be, but still money.”
