The former D.A. Gordon Public School has been sold.

Rick Strain, a sales representative with Re/Max Chatham-Kent Realty Inc., told the Sydenham Current that the 430 King St. building in the south side of Wallaceburg is off the market.

“It just sold,” Strain said.

Details of the sale are limited at the moment.

Strain said it would be up to the purchaser to announce their future plans for the building and site.

Strain added the facility was sold last week, and the sold sign was put up on Wednesday.

Re/Max Chatham-Kent Realty Inc. had the former Wallaceburg school and 2.83 acres of land listed at a price of $249,900.

The school has been on the open market since November.

The school officially closed it’s doors in June.

The decision was made to close the school after a lengthy accommodation review process in Wallaceburg.

We’ll provide more information about this story when it becomes available.
