‘U Pick ‘Em’ at Wallaceburg Hometown Bingo

A great feature at Wallaceburg Hometown Bingo is the ‘U Pick ‘Em’ game.

In fact, just this last Sunday someone walked away with $15,994 after winning it.

“Now the pot will start again and it will be starting with the reserve pot, which is close to $5,000,” said Sandra Johnston, secretary/treasurer for the Wallaceburg Hometown Bingo Association.

‘U Pick ‘Em’ is like playing Lotto 649 but with only eight numbers.

“We have slips that the OLG gives us, and we run them through a machine, it prints it out or they can put it in their verifier. A verifier is a box that they can sit there and if they don’t dab, a verifier can play their whole bingo and people can sit there a read a book,” Sandra said.

Sandra said the hall has been full every night as the prize climbed towards $15,000.

“We would love to see it full like that every night because all of our money goes back into the community,” she said.

The ‘U Pick ‘Em’ is drawing people in, even from out of town like Sarnia.

“The bingo players are still there,” Sandra said.

Wallaceburg Hometown Bingo is located inside the Kinsmen Community Centre at 1416 Dufferin Avenue, which is owned by the Kinsmen Club of Wallaceburg.
