The Lambton-Kent Community Sports Field project in Dresden got a big boost from Union Gas on Saturday.

The announcement was made and a $15,000 cheque was presented during the banquet/dinner at the Dresden Arena, following the annual LKCS Alumni Golf Tournament held in Wardsville.

“At Union Gas we’re proud to be a partner with the Dresden community,” stated Dave Lamoureux, director of storage and transmission operations at Union Gas. “We believe our support of the LKCS Booster Club will help make a real and lasting contribution to the town of Dresden and surrounding area.”

A $540,000 fundraising campaign was launched last April to enhance the sports field at Lambton-Kent Composite School.

The project details include:

– The installation of a sports field irrigation system

– The resurfacing of all soccer fields

– The installation of a 400 metre running track

– The addition of a baseball diamond

– The expansion of the community Trillium Trail

– The construction of community washroom and storage facilities
