The defence lawyer for Taylor Ermatinger and an assistant crown attorney met on Monday in the judge’s chambers at the Chatham court house.
The facts in an attempted murder investigation were discussed during the meeting.
The 21-year-old Walpole Island man is facing charges of attempted murder, stemming from an altercation at Sam’s Hotel in Wallaceburg on May 20, 2014.
Chatham-Kent police officials said officers arrived at the  Dufferin Avenue location just before 12:30 a.m. responding to a fight between two men known to each other.
A publication ban remains in place on the evidence discussed in court.
It cannot be reported on until the case is completed.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled to run from August 24 to 25 in Chatham.
