Pam Am Games route released in Chatham-Kent

The Alternative Mode of Transportation (AMT) being used during Chatham-Kent’s stretch of the TO2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay has finally been released. A CK torchbearer will travel with the Pan Am flame in a dragon boat along the Thames River. Residents are invited to line the boat dock area from the Third Street Bridge to Tecumseh Park to watch as the Pain Court High School Dragon Boat Team paddle the torchbearer and Pan Am flame to the official ceremony in Tecumseh Park at 2:00 p.m.

Chatham-Kent’s torchbearer route has also been released and can be found at www.toronto2015.org/torch-relay/map.

Details of the timing of the route and when they will be in torchbearer mode can all be found on this map.

The flame will be arriving on Tuesday June 16 in Wallaceburg around 11:30 a.m. and will travel to a brief celebration in downtown Wallaceburg around 12:00 p.m. with food and activities before it continues on route to Chatham’s Tecumseh Park for the community celebration beginning at 1:00 p.m. The community cauldron will be lit at 2:00 p.m. The Chatham celebration will host local community entertainment – the Canadian Cowgirls and Delaware Nation Dancers, activities and food before and after the flame arrives.
