The Wallaceburg District Secondary School gymnasium was jam packed on Wednesday night to bid farewell to the schools long-time music teacher.
A musical celebration was held for Dave Babbitt, who is retiring at the end of the month.
Babbitt had been teaching at the school since 1984.
Babbitt led the senior, junior and stage bands from WDSS last night during the concert.
The performances included some special appearances by some WDSS alumni as well.
“Thank you Mr. Babbitt,” said fellow teacher Yvette Bowsher. “We are going to miss you more than you could ever know.”
“An awesome night,” said Ryan Ebre, another teacher at the school. “A great guy. Heart and soul of the ‘Burg.”
“I thank Mr. Babbitt for everything he has done for this band, the school, and our community,” said Robert Griffioen, a senior student at WDSS.
“These memories will last a life time.”
