National Aboriginal Day celebrated on Walpole Island

The Bkejwanong Children’s Centre held a parade today in celebration of National Aboriginal Day, which is coming up this weekend.

There was also a mini pow-wow held at Walpole Island Elementary School afterwards.

National Aboriginal Day takes place on Sunday, June 21.

It is a special day to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada.
