On June 11, 2015 shortly after 1:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a collision between a Chevrolet car and a mobility scooter at the intersection of Chatham Street North and Hannibal Street in Blenheim.
The driver of the mobility scooter, Jennie Verbeek, 41 years of Blenheim was transported via ambulance to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with life threatening injuries and later airlifted to the London Health Sciences Centre where she succumbed to her injuries.
Yesterday, the 33-year-old North Buxton man driving the car was charged with careless driving.
He was issued a court date of July 15, 2015.
