Attempted murder charges laid after a stabbing in Sarnia’s Rainbow Park

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On Monday, May 6, 2024, at approximately 6:35 p.m., the Sarnia Police Service (SPS) and Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to attend Rainbow Park located at 241 Christina Street South in the City of Sarnia.

A male victim was located and transported by EMS to hospital with serious injuries.

Initial investigation revealed that the 40 year old victim had been stabbed in the neck, but is expected to recover.

Both involved persons were known to each other.

The suspect in this incident fled the area, however, he was quickly located by members of the SPS and placed under arrest.

Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations Division, including SPS Forensics Unit attended the scene.

The investigation continued into the morning of May 7 with police presence in the Rainbow Park area to conduct further canvassing and search for additional evidence during daylight hours.

A 33-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and has been charged with the following offences:

– Attempted Murder

– Failure to comply with a Probation Order

The man has been held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing.
