Crash leads to impaired driving charges near Dresden

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a female for impaired driving following a collision last night in Dresden.

Shortly before 5pm, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision. A minivan was travelling on Croton line, and struck a hydro pole. After hitting the hydro pole, the minivan continued to drive on croton line when the driver struck a pick-up truck on the roadway.

Through investigation, the officer believed the female driver of the minivan to be operating her motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The female was transported to Chatham-Kent health alliance with minor injuries. As a result the female provided breath samples to officers while at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

A 46 year old Sarnia woman was charged blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. She was released from custody with a future court date.
