The 40th annual Thamesville Threshing Festival will have a variety of family contests running throughout the day on Saturday, July 4.
Kristy Metcalfe, advertising chair with Threshing Fest, said some annual fixtures will be running once again.
Baby contest
This event starts at 9:30 a.m. and is located in the pavilion.
“It is based on personality attributes for up to 18 months. Kristy said. “18-24 months is best
‘Sunday dressed pre-1950 era.”
Pre- registration is highly recommended and people can do so by e-mailing threashingfestival@gmail.com.
Frog jumping contest
This fun event starts at 10:30 a.m. and is on a BYOF basis… bring your own frog.
“Registration takes place directly before the event,” Kristy said. “Children have an opportunity to
win a trophy for the fastest frog. No registration fee.
This event is sponsored by the Thamesville Sertoma Club.
Junior Farmer Olympics
This contest kicks off at 6:30pm – 7:00pm.
“ It is an obstacle course with a variety of events,” Kristy said. “There are teams of five. The
details of the course cannot be revealed ahead of time.”
Farmer Olympics
This event run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Registration is $25.

There is a cash prize for first place.
