The Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre in Wallaceburg is set to hold their annual general meeting this week.
“You have to show your membership card to get in,” said Cheryl Burrage, coordinator of the Centre. “This annual meeting we have is to inform our members of how the Centre is doing.
The meeting will be held upstairs at the Wallaceburg and District Museum on Thursday, June 25.
The meeting starts at 1 p.m. and the doors also lock at 1 p.m.
“So you have to be there prior to the start of the meeting,” Burrage said.
“This year we are doing it a bit different. We are going to be doing it electronically. So we will have everything up on a screen including our agenda and last years minutes. The president also gives a report.”
Burrage said they have quite a bit of information this year that she is hoping the members will enjoy.
“We go through the financial statements so everybody knows how the Centre is doing. Also, every year we have to review our by-laws and if there are any changes, the members have to approve it or not.”
There is also an election of directors.
“The board consists of 12 directors. So every year we have a vote on that to have our directors in place. Usually we thank our volunteers and members and that we open it up for questions or comments before we adjourn.”
