Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad was golden once again over the weekend… make that golden x 4!

The Chatham Y Pool Sharks swimmer competed in the Swim Ontario long-course provincial championships over the weekend near Ottawa.

She captured gold in the 200m backstroke, the 100m backstroke, the 50m freestyle, and the 100m butterfly.

She set personal best times in the 50m freestyle (27.45) and in the 100m butterfly (1:04.78.)

Broad also placed 8th in the 100 breast and 12th in the 200 freestyle.

Before her final race, Broad was hit in the head during warm-ups.

After being taken out of the pool and sitting for a while, she still managed to race and ended up winning her final gold medal of the meet in the 200m backstroke.

Word out of Broad’s camp says there are no signs of a concussion.

This year Broad will still be competing in the age group nationals and the senior nationals.
