Around 8:30 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed a red Chrysler minivan travelling eastbound on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

The officer believed the driver was suspended and initiated a traffic stop to further investigate.

The driver was unable to produce a valid driver’s licence, ownership or insurance for the vehicle.

The officer confirmed that he was suspended from driving due to unpaid fines.

The 40-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with driving while under suspension, driving with no currently validated permit, failing to surrender a permit for the motor vehicle, failing to surrender an insurance card and driving with no muffler.

The licences plates were seized and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

He will be required to attend court on August 12, 2015.
