Pair of Wallaceburg residents in hot water

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a pair of Wallaceburg women, one who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, and another was accused of shoplifting.

On May 20, 2015, a woman was released from custody pending a future court date.

On June 24, 2015, the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Yesterday afternoon, officers located the woman and she was taken into custody.

The 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been held pending a bail hearing.

In a separate incident, the Chatham-Kent police arrested a woman in connection with a shoplifting complaint.

On July 13, 2015, the woman attended Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police allege that she placed two wireless speakers and a pre-paid cell phone in her purse and left the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise.

Total value of the theft was estimated at $544.

Through investigation, officers identified the woman and she was taken into custody early this morning.

A 34-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with theft under $5,000.

She was released with conditions pending a future court date of August 12, 2015.
