The 6th annual St. Clair River Run is set to take place along the St. Clair River Trail on Saturday, July 18.

“Our run is really a showcase of our community,” said Ben Hazzard, organizer of the race. “Our people, the place that shaped us and our hope for a healthy future. Over 200 community volunteers help to make this event successful every year.”

The run includes a scenic 10K run, 5K walk/run, and a Kids minnow run.

“We are better together and this event is just a small window into this potential,” Hazzard said. “A significant number of children began running as ‘minnow runners’ covering 200 meters and are now completing the 5k as 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 year olds. We are proud of everyone who achieves the finish line.”

The course follows the St. Clair River through Sombra and Port Lambton and supports the St. Clair River Trail.

Registration for the race is projected to be 800 participants.

People can register at www.stclairriverrun.ca up until 7:30 a.m.

St. Clair Parkway will be closed to traffic from Wilkesport Line to Point Line from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for the run.
