Pair of drug busts nets $147,500 worth of pot

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a pair of Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrants in Chatham.

In the first bust, officers located and seized 100 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, dried marijuana and hash oil.

Total street value of the seized drugs was approximately $115,000.

A 26-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were both charged with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of production of a controlled substance.

A 16-year-old male youth was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

All three were released with conditions pending a future court date of August 20, 2015.

In the second bust, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a second Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Chatham.

Officers located and seized 32 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, dried psilocybin and plants. Total street value of the seized drugs was approximately $32,500.

A 28-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were both charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of production of a controlled substance.

Both were released with conditions pending a future court date of August 20, 2015.
