Seasons Retirement Communities, the management company contracted by Oaks Retirement Village, have announced a new ownership group.
We reported last week that a partnership has been formed among three businessmen.
Richard Jaekel from Richmond Hill and local farm owners Jean Marie Laprise and Dave Van Segbrook have purchased Oaks Retirement Village from its former ownership group.
“This is a case of history repeating itself,” says Mike Lavallee, COO at Seasons Retirement Communities. “When the original Oaks Inn came to Wallaceburg, it took local business people who believed in the project to make it happen. Jean, Dave and Richard have an excellent vision for Oaks Retirement Village. For Jean and Dave, Wallaceburg is their town, too: they want to see area seniors be able to retire comfortably in the community they have lived and worked in their whole lives.”
Construction on a planned extension for Oaks Retirement Village is now underway.
An additional 51 suites are being added, including a secure area dedicated to serving those with memory impairment.
This change marks the beginning of a fresh perspective for Oaks Retirement Village.
Jaekel says he wanted to be part of the project because: “The people of Wallaceburg make it a very desirable town to retire in.”
Laprise agrees: “Providing a local residence for area seniors, where they can count on quality care and service is very important to us.”
Van Segbrook adds: “We believe in this project: We plan to be very involved in the construction of the extension, and in the relationships with community partners, the staff, residents and their families.”
