The Liberals are set to be represented in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for the upcoming Federal election.
A nomination meeting to select the candidate will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at 7 p.m. at Caradoc Sands Golf Course on Saxton Road in Strathroy.
The one contestant, who will be acclaimed, is long-time Liberal, Ken Filson.
Filson is a married father of four who lives in Birr, Ontario, north of London.
He works for Libro Credit Union.
Speeches begin immediately at 7 p.m. at the nomination meeting.
The guest speaker will be Doug Ferguson, former President of the Liberal Party of Canada and former candidate for the riding of London West.
Observers are welcome.
Filson and the Liberals are looking to improve upon a third place finish at the polls from 2011.
Incumbent MP Bev Shipley topped the polls, followed by Joe Hill and the NDP and Gayle Stucke and the Liberals.
In the 2008 election, current Wallaceburg councillor and former Wallaceburg mayor Jeff Wesley represented the Liberal party, coming in second place to Shipley.
This year, Shipley will look to keep the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex seat blue with the Progressive Conservative Party, while Walpole Island band councillor Rex Isaac is representing the NDP.
Jim Johnston will be representing the Green Party once again as well.
The election is currently scheduled to occur on October 19.
