Newspaper delivery dispute leads to charges

On Wednesday September 2nd, 2015, at approximately 9:36 a.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a 911 call from a concerned male party reporting an incident of dangerous driving and criminal harassment at the intersection of Cairo Road and Haggerty Road, Dawn-Euphemia Township.

The OPP responded to the location and learned that the accused and the victim are involved in an on-going dispute over the delivery of a newspaper to the accused residence. This dispute escalated resulting in the accused allegedly following the victim on several occasions, in his personal vehicle, and allegedly operating that vehicle in a dangerous manner.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, a 77 year-old man from Dawn-Euphemia Township was arrested and charged for:

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

– and Criminal Harassment

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday October 19th, 2015.
