A resident of Dresden, Richard “Big Rick” Wilson, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, at Windsor Regional Hospital on Wednesday September 2, 2015 at the age of 57.
He was born in Chatham on April 16, 1958, son of Shirley (Sangster) Wilson of Hamilton, and the late Charlie Wilson (2011).
Beloved husband of Sally Wilson. Dear father of Jessica & Adam Haagsma of Milton, Britany Wilson & Brendan Houghton of Windsor, David & Chantel Flynn of Wallaceburg, and Sara Smith of Chatham. Proud Grandpa of Ruby & Eli Haagsma, and Aiden & Kamron Latimer.
Dear brother of Tracy & Larry Ladd of Stratford, Jeff & Cristy Wilson of Port Elgin, and Tamara & Rob Ricci of Hamilton, and the late Ron Wilson (1981). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Rick was a great neighbour & friend to many. He was avid Harley owner & rider.
Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. All are welcome to join together for a “Final Ride” from Chatham to Dresden, leaving the Funeral Home at 4:30 p.m.
Cremation will take place, with a family interment service at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim at a later date. Donations made in memory of Rick to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice are welcomed.
