The latest show organized by the Wallaceburg and District Council For The Arts has sold out.

The September 19 performance headlined by Emm Gryner with support from Wallaceburg singer Mikayla Lozon has no tickets available.

“Thanks to all of our supporters, sponsors and volunteers,” the group posted on Facebook. “We’re looking forward to the magic that awaits us all inside the Jeanne Gordon Theatre on September 19th.”

The Council For The Arts is still in the running for some funding from the Community Futures Development Corporation of Chatham-Kent, after they launched a Special Project Funding Competition with the top prize of $2,500.

The group is hoping to earmark the funds for an adult concert series.

“The objective of this project is to book a three show adult series,” reads the description on the Community Futures website. “The group is looking to bring more diverse offering of performers and venues to the community.”

The proposed acts are:

– Michael Schatte, Canadian Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.

– Trent Severn – nationally recognized musical trio.

– The Mudmen – rock and roll with bagpipes.

The Blenheim Youth Centre and there after school program, along with the Canadian Mental Health Association – Chatham-Kent Branch and their urgent crisis service kits, are the two others in the contest.

First place will receive $2,500 towards their cause, second place receives $1,500 and third place receives $1,000.

People can submit votes by Friday, September 25.

The winners will be announced at the Community Futures Development Corporation of Chatham-Kent’s AGM to be held September 29.
