Dresden beats Alvinston in OT in home opener

The Dresden Kings got off to a great start on Friday night in their home opener against the Alvinston Flyers.

With the score tied at 2-2 heading into overtime, newcomer 16-year-old Brady Hogg provided the heroics, scoring the game winning goal at the 1:41 mark of the extra frame.

Will Tetzlaff scored two goals in regulation for the Kings, who jump out of the gate with a victory in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League loop.

Former Wallaceburg Lakers goalie Joel Sowinski was solid between the pipes in his debut for the Kings, stopping 28 shots to earn the win.

Dresden will travel to Wallaceburg on Wednesday to battle the Lakers.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
