The Wallaceburg Senior Citizens Club in partnership with the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) is holding a free senior fair at the Dresden Arena.

The event, which is sponsored by the Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (Friday, Sept. 18.)

Cheryl Burrage, the coordinator at the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre, said there will be a ton of information available for seniors at the event.

Burrage said there will be about 38 booths setup at the fair.

“There is all kinds of information in regards to possibly looking for a place to retire, so there are some difference residences. We also have different support booths so that you can get information if you have epilepsy or hearing issues, etc. There is just so much information. Some of it is about exercise. It is a really well rounded venue.”

There will be seminars available, including one organized by the Ontario Ministry of Finance and another by the Alzheimer’s Society.

From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the Ontario Ministry of Finance will present a seminar entitled “Get Your Money.” It will be focused on understanding Ontario’s tax credits and benefits for individuals and families.

Information will be presented, and people will have time for questions as the conclusion of the presentation.
