On September 18, 2015, a warrant was issued for the man as he failed to comply with his probation order.
Yesterday afternoon, police responded to Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham in regards to a shoplifting complaint.
The man was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant and further charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
A 23-year-old Wallaceburg man was released pending a future court date of November 3, 2015.
