Jean Ann (Brown) Verstraeten, a lifelong resident of Mitchell’s Bay, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the age of 70.
Jean is the daughter of the late Exurice ‘Mack’ & Clementine Katarina (Hellegards) Brown. Beloved mother of Tracy Verstraeten and Jennifer Lahey (Cory). Cherished grandmother of Lauryn and Kenzie. Sister of Adele Cragin (Bob) of California, Ray Brown (Louise) of Mitchell’s Bay, Robert Brown (Linda) of Mitchell’s Bay and Martha Johns of California. She will be missed by her many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. Predeceased by Adrian, Joseph, Sharon and John Verstraeten and survived by her sister-in-law Sonja Aarssen.
Jean had retired from Navistar in 1996 after 31 years of employment.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, October 15. The memorial service will follow at 7 PM Thursday with Fr. Chris Gillespie.
