Catherine Elizabeth ‘Kate’ (Jackson) Johnston, a resident of Wallaceburg, died peacefully at Fairfield Park on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 97.
Catherine is the daughter of the late Joseph & Margaret (Shaw) Jackson. Predeceased by her beloved husband Lorne Vye Johnston in 2006. Loving mother & mother-in-law of Edward & Betty Johnston. Dear grandmother of Jason Johnston (Andrea), Jeff Johnston (Cara), Jennifer Johnston Gusso and great grandmother of Miah and Marcus Gusso and Rachel & Kyla Lynn Johnston. Sister of Elsie Mills (the late Donald) and the late Herbert (Jean), Hugh and John Jackson (Doris). Sister-in-law of Melva Jackson and Helen Sheff.
Kate was a member of Sombra United Church UCW, PDDP of Sunset Rebekah Lodge 185, Edith Cavill Chapter No. 2 O.E.S., the Courtright Friendship Club, Meals on Wheels and the Tuck Shop at the Sydenham District Hospital.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 on Thursday. The funeral will be celebrated at the funeral home on Friday, October 16 at 11 AM.
