Special to the Sydenham Current
Halloween hockey took the Wallaceburg Novice Rep Lakers down the road for Dresden’s annual minor hockey day.
Dresden did a spectacular job hosting visiting teams to their event, with food and fun for all participants.
After the National Anthem was finished and the puck dropped it was all business as Dresden came hard and fast with the first goal of the game.
Wallaceburg responded well as they countered with equal pressure and started to control the play.
Dresden battled hard throughout the game but was unable to prevail and the Lakers’ “whole team” effort took the game 7-2.
Adam Trella scored an amazing four goals, while Nash Jacobs potted two and Arionna Hopkins got one.
Cole Allaer was awarded the only assist of the game, but there’s still suspicion that there may have been more that never made it to the game sheet.
Connor Bechard had an excellent game and fore-checked liked a pro, as a result he earned the player of the game honours.
The defence also played extremely well and were backed up beautifully by Brock Lane between the pipes.
The Novice Rep Lakers will travel to a tournament in South Huron this weekend, with action starting early Friday morning.
