dresden remembrance day

The Dresden Remembrance Day service will follow a similar trend as past years in the downtown core.

A parade will form in the parking lot at the Dresden Legion Branch 113 and will proceed to the cenotaph at 10:45 a.m.

A ‘fly over team’ piloted by Ed Butler, Dennis Smit and Mark Sebutis, members of the Sarnia Aircraft Association Formation Team, will be over Dresden at 10:55 a.m.

Two minutes of silence, the Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths will begin at 11 a.m.

Traffic will be delayed during the ceremony, as the parade starts at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 113 on Camden Street and proceeds south on St. George Street to the Cenotaph at Queen Street for service at 11 a.m.

After a service, which lasts for approximately 45 minutes, the parade reforms and proceeds west on Queen Street, north on Centre Street, east on Lindsley Street, north on St. George Street, west on Camden Street and concluding at the Legion.

All lanes will be temporarily closed for the parade procession.

The Remembrance Banquet will be held at the Dresden Legion at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12, call 519-683-4862 to get them.
