Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse is getting ready for their 6th annual winter camp.

In fact, they will be holding two camps this season, one in Chatham and another in Wallaceburg.

“These camps are for boys and girls who have never experienced lacrosse before and want to try it or for experienced players looking to hone their skills,” said Jamie Knight, organizer of the camp.

“They are non contact camps, that are designed to teach the art of passing, catching and shooting.”

The Chatham camp will take place at the St. Clair College Healthplex on Tuesday nights from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The camp runs from January 12 to March 15. This camp is geared towards tyke, novice, peewee and bantam aged players.

Cost is $100 and kids will need to bring a stick, helmet and gloves.

The Wallaceburg camp will run on Thursday nights at the Wallaceburg Kinsmen Community Centre. Tyke/novice is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and peewee/bantam from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The camps runs from January 21 to March 24.

Cost is $75 and kids will need to bring a stick, helmet and gloves.

Knight said he is working on setting up a girls-only camp as well.

If anyone is interested in signing up their child for either of the camps, e-mail Knight at jknight@wallaceburglacrosse.com.
