John Alphonse Mel, a resident of Port Lambton, died peacefully in Sarnia on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Cecelia Levilla (Sharrow). Loving father of Cathy Ellis and Christopher (Brenda), Robert and James Mel.
Dear grandfather of Matthew, Jessica, Nathan, Corey, Jacob, Amy, Sarah, Tyler and Shaikyrra. Brother of Marie Van Linden, Dorothy Castaldi and the late Madeline Ebear, Anna Gaul and Jeanne Mel. John had farmed all his life in Port Lambton, had retired from the Wallaceburg Brass and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Thursday, November 26 at 1PM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
