Janice-Johnston-1448632707It is with very sad and heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of our dear and loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, JANICE SUE (ROGERS) JOHNSTON, after a courageous battle with cancer (AML) on November 26, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia.

She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband of 47 yrs. Tom, her children, Todd (Lori Brown) of South Carolina, Sgt. Timothy of US Army, Arizona, George Tobin (Amy) of Port Lambton and Heidi (Brent) Welsh of London. Her mother and step-father Leona and Robert Mitchell of Arizona, her sister Toni (Dick) de Beaubien of Montana, and their daughters Kaylee (Doug) Sims and Tammee (Job) Jiminez of California. Brothers and sister in-laws, Joe & Jeanette, Shirley, Phil & Doreen, and Frank and Cathy Johnston all of Port Lambton. Step brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Linda Baatz of Michigan and step-sister Sharon Mitchell of Arizona. Predeceased by her father & step mother George A. & Lorene Rogers, brothers and sister in-law Mick & Joan Johnston, Gerald Johnston and Terry Johnston. Special great aunt to Joni & Nolan Cogghe, Greg & Carly Woolman, Rachael, Connor & Liam Johnston.

Janice was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Port Lambton, and a 45 yr. member & past president of the Catholic Women’s League, an active member of the Sacred Heart/St. John’s Cemetery board, volunteer baker for meals on wheels and a retired volunteer for St. Joseph’s Palliative care.

Janice will be resting at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson St., Wallaceburg on Sunday November 29, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM with Parish Prayers at 7:30 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Port Lambton on Monday, November 30, 2-15 at 11:30 AM.

Interment in the family plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Port Lambton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sacred Heart/St. John’s Cemetery maintenance fund or St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia would be appreciated.
