Dresden BIA holds Christmas open house

Downtown Dresden merchants stayed open late on Thursday for their Christmas open house.

Lucy Ogletree, owner of Harvest Moon in downtown Dresden, said it was a nice event hosted by the Dresden BIA.

“Everyone had some sales in their stores and some giveaways and prizes,” she said. “We hosted the dinner here at Harvest Moon. It was attended by local people from Dresden. We are pleased with the numbers. It was a traditional turkey dinner with Lisa’s twist. She is quite the culinary artist.”

Ogletree said there was a firetruck decorated with Christmas lights, and Christmas music out in the street.

“It was nice to see everyone come out and see everyone,” she said. “It was such a nice mild evening that a lot of people came out… touring around downtown Dresden.”

Ogletree said they are encouraging everyone to come back downtown on Saturday night for the Santa Claus Parade.

The parade starts at 6 p.m. sharp.
