Donald Raymond Davies, of Port Lambton, died suddenly but peacefully at home on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the age of 85.
Don is the son of the late William Samuel & Lillian (Christopherson) Davies. Beloved husband of 54 years Colleen (McDonell). Loving father of Donald Davies (Deanna) of Kingston, Donna Johnson (Tim) of Sarnia and Derick Davies (Lori Bogaert) of Wallaceburg. Dear grandfather of Mackenzie, Oliver, Morgan Grace, Samuel, Lexi and Cooper. Brother of Marjorie Mills (the late Mac), Orvil Davies (Dot) and the late Arnold Davies (late Frances) and the late Ken Davies (Nancy). He will be missed by his many nieces & nephews.
After 33 years Don retired as a Sgt. from the OPP Sombra detachment in 1988. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18 Colour Guard, the OPP V.A. and the Masonic Lodge, Sombra. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Tuesday January 5th.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton on Wednesday, January 6th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow. If desired, remembrances to Sacred Heart Church or the Heart & Stroke Society may be left at the funeral home. 519.627.3231.
