On January 29, 2016 around 6:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a collision involving a vehicle, pedestrian and stroller at the intersection of Queen Street and Park Avenue.

A 25-year-old Chatham woman was pushing her son in a stroller.

As she crossed Queen Street, the stroller was hit by a motorist who was turning left from Park Avenue onto Queen Street.

The two-year-old boy in the stroller was injured and transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

He was later transferred to London for further medical treatment.

Neither the boy’s mother nor the driver of the vehicle were physically injured.

An 83-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.

The boy has since been released from hospital.

This morning, Constable John Hicks paid the boy and his mother a visit.

The boy was given a ‘monkey’ to help him recover.
