Dresden Kings even up series with Blenheim

The Dresden Kings have evened up their opening round playoff series with the Blenheim Blades.

In a close, back-and-forth contest, the Kings prevailed after scoring a pair of goals in the third period.

Isaac McLean scored, what would end up being the game winning goal at the 7:14 mark of the third.

Blenheim rallied later in the third, scoring one goal with an extra attacker, but fell short making the final score 4-3 for Dresden.

Derek Shaw, Will Tetzlaff and Dillon Liberty also scored for the Kings, while Travis Moore stopped 28 shots for the win.

Brady Hogg and Kyle Dawson both chipped in with a pair of assists each. McLean added an assist to also complete a two-point night.

Dresden Arena was packed for the Kings’ first home playoff game of the season, as a crowd of 525 came through the gate.

Game 3 will go tonight (Saturday, Feb. 6) in Blenheim.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
