Police investigating sexual assault in downtown Chatham

The Chatham-Kent Police are currently investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Chatham.

On Friday, February 12, 2016 around 8:20 p.m. a 24-year-old Chatham woman was walking on King Street West when an unknown man approached her from behind and inappropriately touched her.

The woman broke free and the man fled the area.

He was last seen running northbound between Scotia Bank and Mama Maria’s.

The man is described as tall with a thin build.

He was wearing all dark clothing with a beige ski vest.
