Rainfall warning issued in C-K

rain

A rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada across Chatham-Kent, while a special weather statement and freezing rain warning has ended.
Here is the report from Environment Canada:

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Rain, heavy at times, is expected this afternoon and will continue into the evening hours. Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 35 mm are expected by this evening. A clap or two of thunder is also possible especially in areas near Eastern Lake Erie.

Precipitation will change to snow on Thursday as colder air gets pumped in from the north in the wake of this large low pressure area.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
