Elaine DeVillaer of Wallaceburg

Elaine-Devillaer-1456931027Elaine Joan DeVillaer, a resident of Wallaceburg, died at home peacefully and surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the age of 76.

Elaine is the daughter of the late William and Vera ( MacDonald) Sutherland. Beloved wife of Richard ‘Dick‘ DeVillaer for 56 years. Loving mother of Alan DeVillaer (Rose Marie Kucharuk) and Lisa Kerwin (Ken). Sister of the late Gordon, Bruce and William Sutherland. She will be missed by her nieces Sheryl (Jim) Miller and Carol Conway.

Elaine was a dedicated member of the Trinity United Church UCW and participated in many Church activities. Elaine also enjoyed history, genealogy and was a proud descendant of the Selkirk Settlers and the MacDonald Clan. She was very involved in the 200th anniversary of the Baldoon Settlement.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday. The funeral will be celebrated at Trinity United Church on Friday, March 4 at 11 AM. Cremation with interment in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
