A Tupperville man is facing drunk driving charges after allegedly driving his truck into the Lord Selkirk Bridge in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials said just before 11:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on McNaughton Avenue near Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Police say the driver of the truck lost control and struck the side wall of the Lord Selkirk Bridge.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving his truck while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests where he refused.
A 49-year-old Tupperville man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and refusing to provide a breath sample.
He was released pending a future court date of March 23, 2016.
His vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
