A Wallaceburg man faces charges after allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
Chatham-Kent police officials say yesterday morning, a man and his girlfriend began arguing which escalated into a physical altercation.
Police say the man allegedly assaulted and threatened the woman while also not allowing her to leave the bathroom to call for help.
Luckily, another resident in the home was able to get the man away from the woman, police officials said.
The pregnant woman was assessed by paramedics as a precaution.
The 29-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault, utter threats and forcible confinement.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
