A former Wallaceburg Laker and Dresden King player died suddenly in Toronto on Sunday.

Jordan Shine was 27-years-old.

Reports say he was found unresponsive in Toronto where he was living with a friend and working as a DJ.

His cause of death has yet to be determined.

“The Wallaceburg Laker Executive, coaching staff and players would like to send their condolences to the family of Jordan Shine, who passed away at the young age of 27,” the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League team posted on their website.

“His dad, Ken Shine was the coach of Wallaceburg Lakers in 2014-2015 season before leaving to be assistant coach for the Blenheim Blades.”

The Wallacetown native played for the Barrie Colts, Belleville Bulls and London Knights during his OHL career, which wrapped up in the 2007-08 season.

He collected 19 points and 531 penalty minutes in 202 OHL games in his career.

  1. HMMMM….DJ in Toronto, wonder what he died from????????????????

There is unfortunately a lifestyle that goes with that job, and it usually tends to lead into the drugs and booze . Sadness for the poor family .
