A resident of R.R. # 6 Thamesville, Darlene Crow passed away at her home with her family at her side on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the age of 53.
Born in Trenton, Darlene was the daughter of Marten and Grace (Dreise) VanRooyen and cherished daughter-in-law of the late Bill and Joyce Crow.
Beloved wife of 30 years to Mike Crow.
Loving mother of Jessica Crow (Robert Wessels) of Thamesville, Michael Crow (Lindsay) of Ridgetown, Candace Crow of Thamesville and Brandon Crow of Thamesville.
Proud grandmother of Michael Johnathan Crow.
Dear sister to Dick VanRooyen (Shirley), John VanRooyen (Dianne), Martha Hooyer (Wayne) and Paul VanRooyen (Kathy). Sister-in-law to Brenda Pearson (Bob), Cheryl Atkinson (Dennis), Susan McCready (Phil Porcher) and Pete McGregor (Teri).
Also loved by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sister Annette McGregor, nephews Jeff Atkinson, Scotty Pearson and Mark Moore, brother-in-law Dess McCready.
Darlene will be remembered for her dedication to her family, the family business and her infectious smile. When not at work, Darlene enjoyed gardening and her time with her family at the cottage, where she was often found boating and fishing on Lake Chemong. She loved traveling around the world – particularly where the climate was warm with her family and friends.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Maple City Baptist Church, 500 Indian Creek Road West, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 with Pastor Rick Dressler officiating. Interment to follow at Botany Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Darlene to the London Health Sciences Foundation (London Regional Cancer Program) or Maple City Baptist Church: Special Programs would be appreciated.
