Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 21-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance in the death of an 18-year-old woman.
Sarnia police responded on June 16 to a report of a sudden death at a residence in the 400 block of Nelson Street. Officers found 18-year-old Leia Cooper dead inside.
Police say the Office of the Chief Coroner determined her cause of death in October. Based on those findings and the ongoing investigation, officers executed a search warrant on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and arrested the man.
Police say the matter is now before the courts and no further information, including the cause of death, will be released at this time.
